Time

This exercise takes two minutes.

Levels

There is only one level of Tree.

How to do it

At all times, follow the movements of your trainer.

Initial Position

  • Stand on the Wii Balance Board.
  • Your feet should be together.
  • Your arms should be at your sides.

Set-up

  • Bending your left knee, bring your left foot up so that it is on the inside of your right thigh, near the groin.
  • Bring your palms together before your chest.

The position

  • Lift your arms straight above your head so that they are pointing at the ceiling.
  • Clasp your fingers together.

Holding the Position

  • Breathe in and out, keeping your breath steady.
  • Concentrate on your balance so that you keep the red dot in the yellow circle.

Unwinding

  • Lower your arms and bring your palms together before your chest.
  • Straighten your left leg so that your left foot is on the Wii Balance Board.
  • Let your arms fall to your sides.

Repetitions

  • Repeat the exercise, but this time standing on your left leg instead of your right.
  • There is only one repetition of this exercise: once on each leg.

Scoring

You are awarded points based on how well you kept the red dot within the yellow circle, for both the right and the left legs.

Problems

  • Do not place the foot of your bent leg against the knee of your straight leg as you could damage the joint of the straight knee.
  • If you are having trouble keeping your balance, stretch your arms and spine upwards, as if they are being pulled by a cord.
  • If you are having difficulty keeping your balance, you should have a chair by you so you can grab it to keep from falling.
  • If the foot of your bent leg keeps slipping down the other leg, try doing the exercise in shorts, as the bare skin will have a bit of grip as it comes together.
  • Take your time with this exercise and gradually build up to putting your foot in the right place and balancing in the position.
