Timing question

Not sure if this is in the correct category or not (sorry if its not).
Last night I did the Expert cycling and finally finished getting all 20 flags for the first time and I looked at my clock and it actually took me an hour to do. BUT when I crossed the finish line it timed it at 30 minutes. Is this because 30 minutes is the maximum credit you can receive? Maybe a stupid question but I really want to know what Im doing lol.

If you not doing a break with the + Button you get at the flag levels a time out message at 60 minutes.
I remember this because I got this message about hundred years ago at my first try. ;)
I doesn't look much at the time counter so I simply didn't know it add 30 or 60 minutes.
I most use an automatic translator so the text can be exotic.
