Saving Routines? Misc. Questions.

I'm enjoying Wii Fit Plus, but a couple things have me puzzled.

I'm disappointed that I cannot create a "My Routine" that includes anything except Muscle and Yoga exercises. It escapes me why they have that restriction, but it is what it is.

I've been doing "Wii Fit Plus Routines" and enjoying the variety. My problem is that there doesn't seem to be a way to save a routine once I've done it. Each time I guess I have to re-create it. Is that right?

When I begin "Wii Fit Plus Routines", I have to select something called "activity level" or something like that, with the options being 1, 2, or three. Is this choosing how many exercises I'm going to do within each category?

If I exercise without using Wii Fit (eg., at a health club), is there a way to record the time and type of exercise on Wii Fit?

One of my exercises today was the simple run around the island. When I finished, the trainer said something like, "you did that well, maybe next time you should go for a longer run". How can I select the time or distance for the run (or other exercises)?

Even with these minor issues, I've been using WF+ for about two weeks and enjoying it and am surprised at the degree of exertion I'm getting. (It may have something to do with being 61 and out of shape. :) I would, however, like to have more flexibility with the routines (and able to save them).

Appreciate any help you can offer.

Ron

The premade routines in the Wii Fit Plus Routines menu seem to be static. You can make up your own routines if you click on the box under that called My Routines. It seems to only have yoga and strength exercises but you can make the workout as long as you like and it automatically saves it at the end so you can do it again.

I haven't really played around with the routines that much so someone else may know more about it.

Hi Ron!

Yeah, we're all disappointed that Nintendo didn't include the games in the "My Routine" section. :( I think you do have to recreate the combinations of the pre-made routines. The 1, 2 and 3 is how many activities you're doing from each pre-made routine. So if you combine three pre-made routines, but set your activity level at 2, it will give you six exercises chosen from the nine available. My board whinges at me when it thinks I'm going overboard, though!

To record extra time exercising, find the 'FitCash' - it should be in your My Wii Fit Plus section. There you'll find the Activity Log. Time you spend outside of Wii Fit Plus won't count towards your fitpiggy total (or the elusive colour changes), but it is somewhat satisfying to see the 'time spent exercising' bar go up. :)

To go for a longer run, you may have unlocked an "Advanced" mode (when you select 'running' on the screen, there may be a blue plus to change the level) which will give you a longer runtime.

Hope this helps. :)

Thanks for the responses. It sounds like I do understand how things work....just wondering why they don't work a bit better.

Now I'm wondering if there's something better....maybe EA Sport Active?

Know the feeling. I don't know why they don't let you save routines based on the more game based exercises.

It only takes a few moments to quickly build a routine, but it's still annoying.

I really like EA Sports Active, and have both versions, but they are nowhere near as much fun. I think a mix of the two is the way to go, and is exactly what I'm planning to do.
