I bought a Wii Fit after thinking about it for a long time. I've wanted to go out to a keep fit class, or a gym for ages, but going to bed at 9pm to be able to get up at 4.45am to get to my job just doesn't leave me the time or energy to get out there!
I'm hopeful that Wii Fit will make a difference in the right direction. I'm sticking with the philosophy that it's better than continuing with the nothing I've been doing up to now!
The initial test was a bit of a wake-up call! I'm actually 44 but have a Wii Fit age of 57! I also seem to have poor balance - but I have now managed to tight-rope a whole 6 meters!
I started on Thursday and am really enjoying the exercises, but I think I might stick mostly with the aerobic exercises given that a main aim is to shift a bit of weight. I've lost about a 1lb so far. (Probably helps that I've been hyper aware of what I'm eating too and have avoided my normal between meal snacks.)
With the Training excercises, are you supposed to work through them in sequence? If that's the case I don't think I'll be doing much muscle strengthening. It's so painful on my ankles to balance on one leg for that first excercise. I haven't managed it yet!
I haven't managed to get a 'perfect' in the first step excercise. I've been following the Wii folk. It says I should be faster getting on and off the board - should I be going faster than the Wii folk? As far as I'm aware, I'm perfectly in time with them!
The jogging was more fun than I expected. And I was better at it than I thought I would be!
All in all, if I keep this up - and watch what I eat - I'm hopeful that I'll be doing myself some good!
I'll post my BMI etc. next time and let you know how it's going!
Kind regards
Sue
