1dayfit I don't think it is important to see a consistent drop each day, you should watch over the long term and you should then see apattern of weight loss etc. It is almost impossible to do wii everyday at the same time for me. It has been 65 days for me and though I have not lost any weight I do see my BMI going down over the long term
Have fun and happy exercising!!

The Wii says to eat some carby food before exercising and protein after. That helps to burn fat correctly and put on muscle. But it is good dto get your carbs in a lower glycemic way, meaning whole grains rather than junk foods. I am trying right now to kill my sweet tooth, and I am going to get some fresh herbs to add to my meat/veggie dishes to season them up and make them more enjoyable to satisfy me more. Herbs are good for removing heavy metals from the body, too, and other things. The more we can do to detox, nourish, oxygenate and help things to work right, the better we will feel and look.

Shrinking the tummy by cutting portions down (within reason, healthfully so) will help to decrease the appetite. As will taking enough vitamin D in the winter. About 5000 units a day according to what I have read. Or even more. Your doc can check your Vitamin D level if you want. B vitamins help with metabolism of food, too.

Hi again, thanks for the replies!

I do normally weigh in in the morning and the board is on the same spot every time so I am a bit naffed off about this. I don't expect to see a loss each day, but over the past two weeks my graph is going up and not down...aaargh!

I sort of feel a subtle difference in how my middle feels though, maybe I should find a measuring tape and measure my waist instead...!

Oh well, mustn't give up. Anyways I like it too much! :D

I think how you feel in yourself is a very clever indication of what's going on and you can often tell when you feel a bit lighter. Waist measurement could be a good way of telling how you're progressing, but it is a a bit tricky to get that accurate each and every time - when I'm desperate I do tend to pull the tape measure in a bit tighter  I have a pair of jeans I would like to feel more comfortable in and try them on every now and then to see how I'm doing. The trouble is I'm a classic apple shape and tend to lose the bulge around my waist last of all - I can reduce my legs to power packed spindles and look gaunt in the face but still have a muffin top over the waist band

Yes, that good feeling is important! If you are gaining muscle you will weigh more but be glad. It should be muscle, and that weighs more than fat! If you are eating right, exercising and feeling better, you are doing the right thing. The muscle will burn calories and your weight will come down.

Hi again :D
I think I'm finally heading in the right direction on my graph now, but still no weight loss to get excited about.

I've bought some sort of cup things that you put under each corner of the board to raise for the step exercises. I rather enjoy doing free step whilst watching the soaps on TV but felt the board was too low so I am hoping to ramp it up a bit now with the extra height on the board. I've tested them and they seem quite sturdy...hope I don't fall flat on my face later though  .

Additional height means additional work, faster heart beat, additional strain on your knees, etc., so maybe check it out with a professional? A trainer, doctor or someone. Unless you already know.

I don't blame you for wanting to ramp it up though. Especially since you are not losing weight yet. Persistence, right diet and certain vitamins will help!

B vitamins for improving metabolism
D3 for satisfying appetite easier in the fall/winter/spring weather.

Hi again, hope you are all getting on great!

I am still not losing any weight to speak of, despite doing about an hour a day on mainly the aerobic sections :| I am not overeating and am chosing healthy options (eg lunch is homemade soup) and reducing carbs etc- I have been going to bed every night feeling like I am so hungry but resisting the temptation to eat something. I love the Wii fit still, and I refuse to give in, but it is really annoying me why my weight even goes up sometimes and not down :( . The overall trendline is showing a very slight gradient down, but nothing to write home about and the BMI is really hardly different at all. **sob**

Just wanted a grumble really, I still just love the Wii Fit. Wonder if they will bring out new software sometime  ...

You say it is going down slightly, so don't give up hope :) And at least your weight isn't increasing like most people.

How slow is slow though? It took me all of last year to lose less than three stone, so that works out at less than half a pound a week. You barely notice the change from week to week, but when I think back to how I was this time last year it is all so worth it. Looking back to then is what keeps me going, knowing that no matter how long it takes it still works.

How does your body feel? Remember that muscle weighs more than fat, so you can get trimmer and fitter while not actually losing much weight (most rugby players would be classed as obese based on their BMI, because of all the muscle mass).

Also, how much do you need to lose? Generally speaking the less you have to lose the harder it gets.

You say you are going to bed really hungry. That might actually be a bad thing. If you overdo it you can end up putting your body into starvation mode where it clings onto every last ounce of energy and slows your metabolism. Perhaps vary your intake a bit, or just change when you are eating to spread it out through the day a bit more.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I am truly baffled because I've really been putting a lot of work in and eating less - certainly not more _ than I used to and I still didn't even manange to meet my measly target of a 2 lb weight loss. Feeling really down about it now :( .

Since January, I have lost maybe three lb all in all - and I have a lot to lose! (hence the only slight downward trend in my graph)

I still won't give up, but I'd just love to see some sort of achievement. All I can say is that my jeans are a somewhat less tight thyese days, so it must be doing something... :? .

Hope everyone else is getting a good result!
